(First post in two months, go me! :-P)
Okay, so a couple days back, we got heavy snow fall our way. Two days down the line, it's still there, thanks to constant below-zero temperatures. While it's nice to look at, one of the drawbacks of said snow hanging around for so long was made evident today.
I had to head out this morning for a loaf of bread, and I soon discovered that walking along the pavement to the shops was a complete nightmare. The snow had been compacted down so much by other pedestrians that it had pretty much turned into ice. Extremely slippery ice, stretching all the way along the pavement. So I was slipping and sliding all the way to the shops and back again. Plenty of times I felt like I was going to lose my balance (or look like an idiot as I swung my arms to regain it). I was really lucky I didn't fall over!
When I finally got back with the loaf, my parents wanted me to go out to get another one, since they saw they were on special offer.
My reply: "No."

Later today, I'm jetting off to Australia for a month's vacationing down under. I'm taking the laptop with me, so I can still stay in touch, post entries here, etc.
The next time I'm online, I'll be in Cairns, and most likely trying to recover from jet lag after a near 24 hour flight! xP
See you in Oz!

This morning, a letter came through in the post for me. It was from my university. I opened it up and found out it was about the 2,000 word essay I had to write that I handed in last month. They said it was satisfactory, which means I'm all clear for graduation in late November! YAY! :-D

In other news, I had my first driving lesson today. I was extremely nervous at the start (moreso than learning to dive!), but I thought it went very well. We went over proper starting and stopping procedures, driving along at 1st and 2nd gears, indicating and hill starts. I still have a ways to go, but it's a very good start. And I didn't even have a Mario Kart moment. X-P

Not content in just hurting my left ankle (don't think it was a sprain in the end) a couple of weeks ago, I've now managed to stub one of my toes on that same foot. Feeling thirsty last night, I went downstairs to pick up a can of drink from the fridge. Along the way, my foot painfully connected with a wooden block that was lying by the wall. And now the affected toenail has turned a nice pink-purple colour and hurts if I put too much pressure on it... >.o
Ironically, the can that had indirectly caused me to hurt myself ended up helping me to an extent; ice cold steel can against bruised toe = ahhh...

I sent the form off for my provisional driver's license this afternoon, and I'm expecting to receive it around 15 days from now. Then I can get behind the wheel and drive like I'm playing Mario Kart start my lessons. Road users in Kent, you have been warned!

I think I sprained my ankle today.
When walking out the back door leading from the kitchen to the garden, there're a couple of steps leading down onto the patio, with the fish pond in front. Well, I was carrying a basket of laundry out to hang on the line, when I noticed the water level in the pond was actually nearly a foot lower than normal, which is very bad for the fish. I must have been distracted by the sight of it for a split second, because as I walked out the back door, my foot slipped on one of the steps. I didn't fall over or anything, I managed to regain my balance but I hurt the sole of my foot as it clipped the next step down. After a short while, that pain faded, but some time later, it was replaced by a pain in my ankle that's still persisting. I hope it goes away soon...

It's been a while since my last post, since not much has actually happened here.

The essay/dissertation I have to write is going well, the deadline for that is in 13 days from now, should have it all finished days before then.
In other news, next Wednesday, I'm going to be going to Cornwall for a few days, returning home by train on Saturday. Can't take the laptop with me so I'll be disappearing offline for those few days. Hopefully it'll be better than the trip to Scarborough last year, which was a bit of a disappointment.
Also, it's gotten hot in the room again. >.o What I wouldn't do for some air conditioning right now...

She must secretly be a carnivore.
Whenever I go out to put washing out on the line, she always makes a bee line towards my toes, and has even attempted to bite them. Even when I put food of cucumber, tomato and lettuce out for her, she ignores it and wants to snack on my digits instead.
Just earlier, she was loitering by my foot when I was trying to hang a shirt up. I turned her away and proceeded to the peg the shirt on the line. I looked down just seconds later and she had somehow turned back round and was looking to nibble on my toes.

Uploaded a new icon, btw. Say hello to Luca. :-)
